Dominic
is 19 years old and started racing at 17. He is from Arvada Colorado and has loved racing all of his
life. His Uncle Ed Belec was a big influence on Dominic very early on. Ed has
run Late Models in the South West Tour for over 32 years. Dominic's cousin Eddie
Bellec Jr. was also a big influence. If Dom and Eddie where not at the RC track
or at Colorado National Speedway watching Ed race they would be
talking about cars!
Dom received his first RC Car at the age of 8. Dom and Eddie tore up the RC track for many years. They raced in Denver Colorado and traveled to Las Vegas, Nevada Orlando Florida and St. Louis, Missouri. They just couldn't get enough. Once racing is under your skin it will never go away!
When Dom turned 16 and was old enough to drive he was off and running! His dad Dub Ursetta bought his first car and as soon as he could Dom started drag racing his Cobra Mustang at Bandimere Speedway in Denver, 11.7 best time. The love of cars and the fire in his eyes has been burning for 18 years.
On August 26th 2005 "The Beginning" Dominic's dreams come true, he received the opportunity of a lifetime to run in his first Modified dirt race at Rocky Mountain National Speedway in Denver with Joe Bellm owner Bellm Motorsports and founder of BST Racing. Joe has been in racing for many years and is a master at his sport. Dominic hot lapped in Joe's #73 car and raced Joe's second car #6. Dominic was spectacular!
Another first, Sunday November 20th 2005 Dominic was able to Hot Lap his first Late Model with the help of Terry Boushee #93 and his wife Sally. Terry was Rookie of the year last year and has been a friend of the family for many years. Terry has given Dom a lot of instruction on racing and has helped build his confidence tremendously! Thanks Terry!
The love of racing has been with Dominic since he was very young and with the support of his family and friends Dom is going to have an exciting future in racing!
