The big Mod-50 Draw race at I-76 Speedway is a big race with big chances, more money and a hard fifty laps. After the drivers run Heat Races to qualify for a spot in the Main Event, they then have a pill draw for their position in the Main. The twenty-two drivers qualifying for the Main lined up on the track, announced their name and car number, then drew a pill, which meant some of the best drivers had to start in the very back of the pack. That was the case for Dominic Ursetta of Arvada, as he drew pill number 21, putting him in the last row of the Main Event. Ursetta worked his way up from the back, missing the many wrecks and using the yellow flags to his advantage and since fifty hard-driven laps takes it toll on a car, by lap 40 there were only 16 cars still racing. Ursetta had come up behind leader Eric Burwick of Aurora, at lap 36, so was in position for the lead after Burwick bogged down on a yellow flag restart. Ursetta held tight to his lead and captured not only the big 50-lap race win, but his first I-76 Main Event win. With lots of family and friends to help him celebrate, Ursetta victoriously claimed the trophy and took home the big check. Burwick accepted second, with Beau Speicher of Denver, taking third.
