It was a chilly night at Fort Morgan and the track held
moisture throughout the entire night. The racing was the toughest the 3/8 mile
oval had seen thus far this year. After starting second row inside in the heat
race Dom was running in the 5th spot when a malfunction with his tear-offs made
it so he couldn't see and he had to pull off.
Starting on the pole of the B-main and taking off from
the drop of the green flag, he quickly stretched out to a full straight away
lead. A caution fell five laps into the race, bunching the field back up
tightly. This had no effect as the 6u quickly pulled away again and took the
checkered flag with a huge lead.
Winning the B-main put Dom on the outside of the eighth row
to start the A feature. At the drop of the green flag he quickly picked up where
he left off from the qualifier passing at least a couple cars a lap and moving
inside the top ten. A fierce battle took place when Dom caught the 15w of Will
Brack. They swapped positions many times while passing other cars at the same
time. With just a lap to go Dom was able to get by Brack to take the fifth spot
back and score an important top five finish. This was Ursetta's third top ten
and second top five in the last three races, adding to a great start in 2009 for
the 6u.
