RPM Speedway Fall Nationals
BST Event
With seventy plus cars on hand for the 2009 Fall Nationals in
Hays, Kansas, just getting into the Saturday night A main event would be a tall
task of its own. Dom started the Friday night heat race off in the fifth spot
and ended up finishing right where he started.
Saturday's heat race was a different story as passing points
were very critical on getting into one of the feature events. He started outside
of the second row and after very narrowly missing a few crashes he was able to
finish second and score enough points to get into the B qualifier. Having to
finish in the top ten to transfer to the A feature and having the eighth
starting spot, Dom would need to hold that spot but was obviously looking for
more than that. By the half way point he took the lead and ran away from the
field to take the big win.
The win would line him up fifteenth for the A feature and
after a bottled up start from many of the cars in front of him, Dom started
working his way back through the field picking up where he left of in the B
main. The 6u was clearly one of the best cars on the race track and he was able
to get up to seventh at the checkered flag passing many tough cars along the
way.
