The new configuration for 2009 at Phillips County Raceway saw
the track go from a half mile to a true 3/8 and much better racing. Starting off
from the outside of the front row in the heat race, Dom quickly jumped to the
lead off of turn two and pulled away. The short eight lap sprint ended with no
cautions and Ursetta took the win with teammate Eddie Belec Jr. finishing
second.
The feature was set to go with the 6u drawing the pole
position. As the field took the green a huge accident took place on the front
straightaway taking twelve cars out of the race. Most of these cars were able to
continue because a half hour break was taken so that the track crew could
prepare the track better and it would also give teams time to get there cars
repaired. When the green flag flew again Ursetta took off to a comfortable lead.
After a couple short cautions and another restart on lap seven, he jumped out to
a huge lead and was looking to put the race away. Unfortunately a caution on lap
eleven because of rain proved to be too much for the race track and the race was
called, giving Dom the big win. This being his third win in the last four races.
